stars exploded for you…

I posted a photo a while back (here it is) which said “we are all made of stars”

Beautiful Rach made a great comment on the post pretty much verifying that fact, and I LOVE this quote, so I’m sharing it tonight…

“Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand… It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: we are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements – the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for life – weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and they only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. The stars died so that you could be here today”

  1. Hello there…I just want to say job envy…How did you get a job like that, working for a Journalist/Star/Commentator extraordinaire ?
    Nice blog too!

  2. I mean no insult by saying this, but that picture looks like those ones you see of people sneezing in front of a high shutter speed camera. It took me a while to shake that assumption and realize it was glitter. Funny how similar the two of them look!
